What We Ask

No Takeover Activity
WMI Cruises is not associated with takeovers, street racing, or disruptive car events. Burnouts, donuts, excessive revving, blocking intersections, reckless behavior, and disrespect toward meeting locations will not be tolerated. Always respect the property, the public, and the communities hosting us.

Keep Events Respectful
Personal disputes, arguments, harassment, and unnecessary drama have no place at WMI Cruises events. Treat members, guests, organizers, and members of the public with respect. Any disagreements should be handled privately and away from the cruise.

Know the Route
WMI Cruises uses Rallista for navigation and route information. Every driver is responsible for having the route loaded and being prepared to navigate independently. Do not rely solely on following the vehicle in front of you.

Maintain a Safe Formation
Cruises may be divided into two or more smaller groups, and temporary gaps in the formation are normal. Maintain a safe following distance, allow other traffic to move through the group, and never speed or drive recklessly to catch up. Follow the route in Rallista and safely rejoin the group when possible.

You Are Responsible for Your Actions
Every driver is personally responsible for following all traffic laws and making safe decisions throughout the event. Any tickets, citations, accidents, injuries, vehicle damage, or other consequences resulting from your actions are your responsibility. WMI Cruises organizers, hosts, volunteers, and other members are not liable for the conduct or decisions of individual participants. By attending, you acknowledge that participation is voluntary and at your own risk.

Drive Responsibly
Respect all traffic laws, road users, pedestrians, private property, and the communities we travel through. Racing, aggressive passing, swerving, excessive speeding, blocking traffic, or any other behavior that endangers the public or reflects poorly on WMI Cruises is prohibited.

Guests Must Ride With a Member
Members are welcome to bring passengers and guests in their own vehicles. However, anyone participating as a driver in their own vehicle must be an approved WMI Cruises member. The driving experience is reserved exclusively for members.

No Impaired Driving
Drivers may not participate while under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, illegal drugs, or any medication that affects their ability to operate a vehicle safely. Anyone suspected of being impaired may be denied participation or removed from the event immediately.

Bring a Safe and Legal Vehicle
All participating vehicles must be roadworthy, properly insured, and safe to operate. Drivers are responsible for checking their tires, brakes, lights, fluids, fuel level, and overall vehicle condition before arriving. Organizers may deny participation to any vehicle that appears unsafe or unsuitable for the route.

Follow Organizer and Spotter Instructions
Drivers must follow all reasonable instructions given by route leaders, spotters, and event organizers. Do not pass the route leader, fall behind the rear spotter, leave your assigned group without communicating, or interfere with safety operations. Instructions may change during the event due to traffic, weather, road conditions, emergencies, or other safety concerns.

Agree to Receive Communications
By joining WMI Cruises, you agree to receive emails and text messages from WMI Cruises regarding event details, schedule updates, reminders, and important announcements. You can opt out of these communications at any time by replying STOP to any text message or clicking unsubscribe in any email.
By Attending Any Event
By joining the group or participating in any WMI Cruises event, you agree to follow all rules and guidelines set by the organizers. Failure to comply can result in immediate removal from the event and permanent termination from the group and all future events.
How We Operate
Group Formation & Member Safety
Front Spotter
At the very front, we have the Front Spotter, running about 1 mile ahead of the group. Their job is to scan the road ahead and relay anything important back to the Route Leader — whether that's police presence, traffic slowdowns, rough road conditions, hazards, or anything else that could affect the drive. This allows us to make real-time decisions before the group runs into it.
Route Leader
The Route Leader controls the pace and flow of the cruise based on that information, keeping everything organized and predictable.
Group Structure
Behind the leader, we structure the group intentionally:
- Faster / better handling cars stay closer to the front
- Less powerful or less agile cars stay toward the rear
This keeps the pace consistent and prevents accordion effects, sudden braking, and unnecessary chaos.
Camera Cars
We will also ideally have 2 dedicated Camera Cars in the formation so our photographers can capture high-quality photos and video throughout the cruise. The first camera car will be positioned directly behind the Route Leader, and the second will sit roughly halfway back in the middle of the pack. These drivers will have the flexibility to move within the formation as needed to get the best possible shots, while still maintaining overall structure.
Rear Spotter
At the very back, the Rear Spotter plays just as important of a role. If anything happens behind the group — cars falling behind, outside attention, issues, or disruptions — they communicate forward so we can adjust accordingly.
Large Group Policy (50+ Cars)
If we have over 50 cars, we will be splitting into multiple groups that leave a few minutes apart from one another. Each group will have its own dedicated Route Leader to keep things organized, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

This setup gives us the ability to protect the group, stay organized, and fully enjoy our cars the way this community was meant to.
Stay Connected
Group Communication
As we continue improving the structure, safety, and overall experience of our cruises, we want to introduce radio communication options for the group.
Nothing here is required, but having radios will make a huge difference in how smooth and organized everything runs — especially with our formation (front spotter, route leader, rear spotter, etc).
We typically stretch up to about 1–2 miles, so here are three solid options depending on how involved you want to be:
RA87 40W GMRS Mobile
This is the highest performance option. 40 watts of power = strongest and most reliable signal. Handles distance, curves, and terrain the best. Ideal for full communication across the entire group.
⚡ Must be hardwired directly to the battery — this unit does not plug into a cigarette lighter.
⚠️ Ships from Hong Kong — expect approximately 2 weeks for delivery.
Best for:
- Front spotter
- Route leader
- Rear spotter
- Camera cars
- Anyone who wants maximum reliability
RA86 20W GMRS Mobile
This is the middle-ground option. About half the power, half the price. Will work about 90% of the time. May lose some consistency at longer distances (1.5+ miles) in worst-case terrain.
🔌 Can be plugged into a cigarette lighter — does not need to be hardwired to the battery.
⚠️ Ships from Hong Kong — expect approximately 2 weeks for delivery.
Best for:
- Regular drivers in the group
- Anyone who wants solid performance without spending as much
Radioddity GM30 5W Handheld
This is the budget option. Best for line-of-sight use. You will be able to hear transmissions from higher-powered radios from a good distance, but likely won't be able to respond reliably due to lower power.
Best for:
- New members
- Passengers
- Anyone who just wants to hear callouts and updates
Important Notes
- Both the RA86 and RA87 use detachable antennas — not permanent modifications, easily installed and removed
- A properly mounted antenna will significantly improve range and clarity
- We will always be operating on a GMRS frequency
